Today I want to tell you about the main holiday in Russia. Guess what is it? No, it isn’t Christmas. It’s New Year. We all love this holiday so much. There is something magical in it.
We celebrate it on the 31st of December and on the 1st of January. All Russian people prepare beforehand. We buy presents to relatives and friends, decorate our flats and houses. Streets in the cities are very beautiful too.
So if you are in Russia at this time you are very lucky. There are a lot of interesting new year events. I can recommend you the most interesting ones in Saint Petersburg at the end of December.
1. Annual Christmas Fair in St. Petersburg. It will open on the 22nd of December and will be held till the 7th of January. The address is Pioneer Square; Pushkinskaya and Zvenigorodskaya metro stations.
2. “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”. New Year’s holiday, ice show.
